“No one can persuade another to change. Each of us guards a gate of change that can only be opened from the inside. We cannot open the gate of another, either by judgement of by emotional appeal.” ~ Marilyn Ferguson.
We are ultimately all responsible for our own lives.
Our choices are ours, and only ours.
No matter the circumstances, or the hand that life has dealt us.
We choose our response.
We decide how to proceed.
The results we get today are based on our decisions and the changes we make.
No matter how badly we wish for change in another, we cannot force another human to change.
We can lead, encourage and provide good examples in our own lives.
Change is frightening, it paralyses.
The unknown. We much prefer the known, much safer.
Change is a constant in our lives. It is the one thing we can be sure of, along with death.
Nothing stays the same for long.
The attitude with which we face change is what really counts.
Acceptance. Looking for opportunity.
By judging and trying to force change we may even encourage others to defend and in doing so strengthen their original view point.
