I sit in my office today listening to the rain fall and I wonder if this time it will be enough to boost the hopes, lift the spirits, fill the dams and calm the worry that haunts so many rural families.
The dry never seems to leave us for long.
Well, never long enough.
I hope this rain is finding you and your family.
I wish you flowing creeks, full dams, grass and puddles for your children to splash in.
I wish you green.
Rain alone does not mend the situation. It does not pay bills and it does not feed stock.
We must make good decisions. We must look for opportunities.
We must focus on what we can control.
We can make decisions on marketing, strategies, budgets, attitudes and grazing plans.
What a wonderful, welcome sound that is.
