“I was taught to feel, perhaps too much, the self-sufficing power of solitude.” ~ William Wordsworth.
There is enormous healing power in solitude. Time to think, contemplate, rest and replenish.
Solitude can be as damaging as it is healing if not used positively.
If you are using alone time to eat junk, drink to excess, mope or as an avoidance technique the value is lost.
Time alone is beneficial for rest, gathering your thoughts and preparation for what comes next.
But, if we are hiding out at home, ruminating on negative feelings or not healing we are creating more problems for ourselves.
Heal in solitude.
Take care that your own company is right for you, that it is healing. Be kind to yourself, have healthy self-talk. Don’t destroy yourself with negative thoughts and feelings and habits that sabotage your healing and goals.
We can achieve a lot when we are alone.
Silence is a blessing.
Pause, plan and rest.
Solitude is not healing for those whose minds cannot be kind. If we cannot rest and let it be. If we are hiding out and avoiding life. Silence is very hard if we are not ready to hear it.
