Interest

“We are interested in others when they are interested in us.” ~ Publilius Syrus.

It is a basic human need to feel valued, heard and understood. When show interest in us, we become more interested in them.

However, remember to be aware of the motivation behind the interest.

Not everyone is genuine.

What is the focus of this interest?

Be alert and aware of why others are showing an interest in you.

Listen to your gut.

Is this person genuine? Is this person motivated by self-interest?

An important part of maintaining relationships and taking care of those we love is in showing an interest in their lives.

We can use interest as a motivator.

We can initiate new relationships.

Ask questions. Listen. Give someone your time.
