Gratitude

“If you only say one prayer a day, make it “Thankyou”.” ~ Rumi

Be grateful.

I know. It sounds preachy and revolting and lots of you are probably thinking “she has no idea how hard my life is, or what I am going through”. No I don’t.

And I am sorry it is hard. I am sorry you are hurting.

But, you are here.

And you might as well make the best of it.

To do that, we must see the good.

We cannot trade places with another.

Don’t envy someone who is making a good life. Get busy, make your own good life.

Yes, there is always someone worse off. This isn’t a competition. And that’s not the point.

Focus, for a moment. Stop your head spinning wildly with everything that is wrong, take some time, breathe, just for a moment think of ONE thing, to be thankful for. Break the cycle. Stop the thinking pattern.

Think of that one thing. Smile. Be grateful. Say thankyou. In that moment, your thoughts change. Relax your body. Just one moment.

There are better things coming.

There is hope.

One moment at a time.

It will get better. Use gratitude as a tool to help you.
