“What do we teach our children? We teach them 2 + 2 makes 4, and that Paris is the capital of France. When will we also teach them what they are? We should say to each of them: Do you know what you are? You are a marvel. You are unique. In all the years that have passed, there has never been another child like you. Your legs, your arms, your clever finger, the way you move. You may become a Shakespeare, a Michelangelo, a Beethoven. You have the capacity for anything. Yes, you are a marvel. And when you grow up, can you harm another, who is like you, a marvel? You must work, we all must work, to make the world worthy of it’s children.” ~ Pablo Casals.
One of my life goals is to raise good humans.
And despite the challenges, so far I’m pretty pleased with the way that’s coming along!
Recently my eldest moved out. I hope I have done enough to prepare him.
It is our job as parents to ensure our children are ready as they can be for the day we are no longer there.
I think, I have raised a pretty good human. He’s a pretty awesome kid. (But, then I’m his mum!)
I hope he can contribute to the world, and I wish him the best on this new journey.
Making the world a better place is up to us all.
I’m excited to see where life takes my son.
Good luck, go well, be kind, change the world! We love you.
