Why are mums so awful at taking care of themselves?
Some of us are getting better at it, but often we put ourselves right at the bottom of the to do list.
We feel guilty taking time off.
We convince ourselves we need everything to be perfect.
We refuse to rest.
All people need rest. All people need time to themselves. Even mums.
Listen to your body.
Do what is right for you. Nap. Go for a walk. Drink water. Have a wine. Meet up with a friend. Read a book.
Laugh. Go out for coffee. Take the kids to the park. Have a bath.
Do whatever it is that you need to do for you.
This week I have taken some time out.
A trip away with people I love, reading, writing and working. I will nap. I will swim and walk. I will take photographs and I will rest.
